One of the most dangerous potentials when renting a car is that the vehicle could come with some type of problem that could be very expensive to fix and could be blamed on you; In particular if that vehicle is considered to be a luxury brand where parts and labor become astronomically and unreasonably expensive.

After you are certain that these things are all in good condition you need to check the windshield for visible cracks or chips because even though they may seem like nothing it is very easy to have a small chip or crack spread into a crack that covers the entire span of the windshield checking the windshield is especially important if you are say trying to rent a luxury van in Atlanta because of how large and expensive these pieces of glass can be.

So when you decide to rent a luxury car in Atlanta or any city the general idea is to make sure that everything visible is in good working condition. Once everything appears to be fine, or once you have pointed out all of the problems to a employee walking around the car with you go ahead and turn the car on while he is still nearby.

You need to check the dashboard to make sure that none of the warning lights are turned on and then make sure that the headlights and tail lights are all still working. Once you have established that they are all working you can finally drive the car off the lot, however use that 100 feet or so that you get to drive it off the lot to make sure that it drives normally in a straight line etc… because once it leaves the lot the damages are your responsibility.
